Why Arch Manning Will Be the No. 1 Pick

People can debate who the best player in college football is heading into the season, but when it comes to who has the best chance to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2027 NFL Draft, I think the answer is simple: Arch Manning.
When NFL teams are looking for a franchise quarterback, they want a player who checks every box. Size, arm talent, athleticism, leadership, decision-making, and the ability to perform under pressure. Arch Manning has all of those traits and then some.
What stands out to me the most is how comfortable he looks playing the position. Nothing seems too big for him. Whether he’s making throws from the pocket, extending plays with his legs, or leading an offense in a big moment, he carries himself like a quarterback built for the next level.
The opportunity in front of him is massive. As the starting quarterback at Texas, he’ll be playing on one of the biggest stages in college football every week. If he puts together the season many expect him to have, NFL scouts and front offices will be watching closely from start to finish.
Of course, there will be other talented quarterbacks in the conversation. There always are. But when you combine Arch’s physical abilities, football IQ, confidence, and overall upside, it’s hard to find another prospect with a higher ceiling.
The NFL is always searching for the next face of a franchise, and quarterbacks who have the tools to change an organization don’t come around often. Arch Manning has the talent, the mindset, and the platform to separate himself from the rest of the field.
That’s why I believe when the 2027 NFL Draft arrives, Arch Manning won’t just be one of the top prospects available- he’ll be the first name called.
